……-…….. Athens is ………a….. very hot and busy city. There are a lot of people and there is a lot of traffic. The best way to see ……-…….. Athens is walking. Do not drive because it is not safe and the buses are very crowded.

2 A map of the city

It is easy to get around. There are three main streets in ………the….. centre of ……the…….. city, between two main squares. They are ………-….. Constitution Square and ……-…….. Concord Square. A lot of the fabulous buildings and streets in old ……-…….. Athens are in a small area near ………the….. modern city centre.

3 History and shopping

You can walk from ……the…….. Acropolis, which has wonderful views of ………the….. sea, to ……the…….. old Agora market place. This is near ………the….. Plaka area of ………-….. Athens which has colourful houses, old streets, shops and cafés. Try and see a performance at the Dionysos theatre. Theatre was an important part of Greek culture and Dionysos is wonderful.

4 Look at the future

But ……-…….. Athens is also getting ready for the future. A lot is changing for the Olympic games. There is ……a…….. new International airport near ………-….. Athens in ……-…….. Sparta and the main streets in ……the…….. centre of ……the…….. city are cleaner and safer.

5 Eating out

Finally, food and drink. There are a lot of special dishes in Greece. Dolomades (stuffed vine leaves) and mousaka are my favourites. The deserts are delicious too! ……-…….. Athens is ………a….. fantastic city. Wear comfortable shoes and come for a taste of history.
